Strengthening Agricultural Technology and Environmental Sustainability is one attempt to achieve Sovereignty, Security, and Safety of Food. There has been a lot of study in these areas, and it must be promulgated through certain platforms, such as conferences and publications.

The Unhas International Conference on Agricultural Technology (UICAT 2023) is a platform for bringing together relevant field experts, academicians, researchers, practitioners, and the public from around the world, providing them with an opportunity to discuss issues and challenges in the agricultural field as well as to develop networking between research institutions, university, government, and industry in local and/or international levels.

The development of agricultural technology research and its successful implementation through technology enhancement and innovation offers possibilities for fostering productivity growth and improved agricultural product quality, which supports the environment’s quality and other sustainable aspects as well. A variety of factors influencing the agricultural technologies approach and innovations should be considered, including food science, post-harvest and food processing technology, soil and water conservation, farm machinery, renewable energy, geospatial technology in agriculture, agricultural production system, and rural development, food security, and supply chain.

Following the success of The 1^st Unhas International Conference on Agricultural Technology (UICAT) that was held in 2021, this year, the Department of Agricultural Technology, Hasanuddin University, organises the 2^nd  UICAT with the theme of “Strengthening Agricultural Technology and Environmental Sustainability for Sovereignty, Security, and Safety”. Therefore, it is our great pleasure to welcome you on behalf of the 2^nd  UICAT organising committee and to invite you to attend the 2^nd UICAT on 25-26 October 2023.
